Home and the Infinite World Premiere Duisburg, Germany - July 2025

Kamalini conceived a landmark orchestral song cycle of six Tagore songs, with orchestral composition by Bickram Ghosh. Commissioned by the Duisburger Philharmoniker under conductor Stefan Blunier, the work premiered in Duisburg as part of the Marxloh Music Circus outreach program.

Day and Night, Duisburg, Germany - May 2025

In Day and Night, Kamalini brought together mandolin maestro Avi Avital and the Aris Quartett with the Indian sarod and tabla to explore Tagore through the Indian raga tradition, featuring newly-imagined musical soundscapes for Tagore's songs by composers Konstantia Gourzi, Barry Phillips and Mahan Mirarab.

Tagore Song Night, Duisburg, Germany - May 2025

In this production, Kamalini brought together Indian classical masters — tabla maestro Bickram Ghosh, Indian violin virtuoso Kala Ramnath, and mridangam maestro Patri Satish Kumar — with Rabindra Sangeet, exploring Tagore’s music through the melodic, rhythmic, and improvisational traditions of Hindustani and Carnatic music.

Rupantara, Duisburg, Germany - May 2025

Collaborated with acclaimed Odissi dancer Bijayini Satpathy to premiere Rupantara, based on an excerpt from Tagore’s dance drama Chitrangada, bringing his drama into dialogue with classical dance.

Tagore Beyond Borders, Duisburg, Germany - October 2025

Presented an evening of Tagore songs with an international ensemble of musicians. The program travelled from South Asia with the esraj, flute, and tabla-khol, through the Eastern Mediterranean with the baglama, duduk, kuzeh and tombak, to Europe with the violin, cello, flamenco guitar, and saxophone – celebrating music beyond borders.
